BIGGER BY STAN WALKER
Multi-award winning artist Stan Walker reveals ‘Bigger’, his inspirational new single out today on Sony Music New Zealand/Sony Music Entertainment Australia. Stan will also release the single in Te Reo/Māori as ‘Tua’, the literal translation of ‘Bigger’.
Produced by HUGH LAKE besides HAMLEY and co-written with American singer-songwriter Parson James, ‘Bigger’ is proudly released in both Te Reo/Māori and English, this waiata captures Walker’s love for his culture, his whakapapa and his whānau, as well as his hopes for the future generations.
So listen to your wild dreams,
the ones that make you crazy,
They’re telling you the right things,
Why we gotta think so small?
When we can be bigger, bigger than this,
Listen to that good song beating in your chest,
Don’t be scared to stray too far from the river,
We can be bigger, we can be bigger, bigger.
Kia mau ki ō pae tawhiti
Ahakoa te kōkēi
He mana nui tō te āki
Hei aha te whakaaro-iti
Tiro ki tua, tua rā e
Whakarongo ki ngā wai o Roto e
Kei wehi i te wehenga i tō awa
Tiro ki tua, tiro ki tua, tua.
The music video, co-directed with prolific and acclaimed kiwi filmmaker Shae Sterling, is a fitting autobiographical tribute to Walker’s home in Tauranga Moana, featuring sweeping scenes of his marae (Tamapahore) and beloved Mangatawa.
